Bannock or Galette de Michif, is traditional Métis bread. Generally round, hence the French term Galette, meaning cookie.
One recipe for Bannock
- Baked Bannock
- 3 cups flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. sugar (optional)
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup melted fat/lard
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- *Never overwork
- Bake at 350 for
- 15-20 minutes until golden brown
